Der Greif Studio created a curation within the 70s-inspired lobby of the Max Brown Hotel Missori, featuring 6 Italian artists from our community. The artworks perfectly complement the vintage interior design and the energetic neighbourhood, in the historic centre of Milan.
Max Brown Missori is a contemporary hotel situated in the surroundings of the Milanese iconic landmark Velasca Tower. To create points of artistic inspiration and playfulness, we curated vibrant and dynamic artwork combinations by the selected Italian artists. Our overall concept was to elevate the aesthetic and atmosphere of the lobby and ground floor for visitors and hotel guests, providing them with a feeling of being at home, whilst also creating space for communication and inspiration. The artworks' deep hues and often dreamlike quality transport the viewer, enhancing Max Brown’s retro space.
We organised an artist-led event at Max Brown with two of the artists included in the curation, Alex Valentina and Claudia Fuggetti, in conversation with Chiara Bardelli Nonino, Curator and Harper's Bazaar Italia Executive Features Director and Simon Lovermann, Der Greif Studio Co-Founder and Artistic Director.
Our production partner Artproof specialise in bespoke museum quality printing and framing. From the initial design to final product, we coordinate with them to manage a fast and smooth process that guarantees quality. Ensuring the framed works are elegant and harmonious within your space. Each framed artwork has a signed, limited edition authenticity label on the verso.
For the Max Brown Milan Missori lobby, we selected artworks by six Italian artists from our community: Claudia Fuggetti, Rosa Lacavalla, Alessio Pellicoro, Paolo Prendin, Greta Valente, Alex Valentina.
Claudia Fuggetti’s (*1993 in Taranto) research sees the creation of images as the endpoint of a visual investigation balanced between the real and the unreal, intending to propose new reading keys to interpreting the contemporary. Going beyond the pure objectivity of the visible, through photography, video and digital painting, she creates alternative and possible worlds.
Rosa Lacavalla’s (*1993 in Barletta) visual narratives unfold as transformative journeys —whether it is a personal quest for emotional healing or an exploration of cultural intersections and migrations. Navigating the complexities of the human experience, her works invite viewers to reflect on the intricate paths of healing, transformation, and the blurred boundaries between reality and dream.
Alessio Pellicoro (*1994 in Taranto) is a contemporary photographer who uses landscape, still life and portrait photography as artistic expression and visual language of a journey to self-discovery. His process is essentially about translation and synthesis, where the images meet light, and that light animates places, people, apparently banal objects. In this process, they have the power to convey experiences embedded in life, history, conventions and social roles.
Paolo Prendin (*1991 in Padova) is an editorial and commercial photographer whose practice is equally dedicated to the research on personal projects as well as to investigating the possibilities and limits of the medium. He aims to work in the liminal space of commission and creative practice.
Greta Valente (*1996 in Aosta) is a freelance photographer based in Italy. In 2019, she co-founded Pietra Studio, a photographic duo focused on interiors and design. Her personal research focuses on the relationship between landscape and human beings and how they can influence each other. Her work, mostly in analogue format, has been published by numerous magazines and exhibited in group and solo exhibitions.
Alex Valentina (*1988 in Forlimpopoli) is a visual artist and designer. His practice oscillates between 3D art and real photos. He explores the expressive possibilities arising from the union between digital and physical, trying to create a universe of liquid synaesthesias and enchanting creatures. After having spent significant periods in London and Norway, he’s now based in Milan, where he shares his time between digital illustration, graphic design, tiny videos and his personal explorations.
